Panoptes — Privacy Policy

Panoptes is an on-device analyzer for the iOS App Privacy Report. It is built around a simple principle: your data stays on your device.

What Panoptes stores

When you import an App Privacy Report export (an .ndjson file), Panoptes parses it and stores the results locally on your device only, using Apple's on-device database. This includes the apps, domains, and resource-access records in your report, plus any notes you add when resolving a finding. This data never leaves your device, and the developer never receives it.

The only network requests

Panoptes contacts exactly one external service: Apple's public iTunes Lookup API (itunes.apple.com). It sends an app's bundle identifier (e.g. com.example.app) to retrieve that app's public name, category, developer, and icon. Bundle identifiers are public App Store metadata and are not personal information. No report contents, no device identifiers, and no personal data are ever transmitted.

What Panoptes does not do

• No analytics, telemetry, or usage tracking.
• No advertising and no ad identifiers.
• No accounts, sign-in, or cloud sync.
• No third-party SDKs that collect data.
• No selling or sharing of data — there is no data to sell or share.

Data you export

When you generate a PDF report and use the iOS share sheet, you choose where it goes. Panoptes does not upload it anywhere; the destination is entirely your choice.

Deleting your data

Deleting reports inside the app removes them immediately. Deleting the app removes everything Panoptes stored.

Children

Panoptes is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new date.
