By downloading, installing, or using Masque (“the app”), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app.

1. What Masque is

Masque is a free, open-source macOS utility that helps you create, search, and manage Apple Hide My Email addresses from your menu bar.

2. Not affiliated with Apple; unofficial interface

Masque is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, authorized by, endorsed by, or sponsored by Apple Inc. “Apple”, “iCloud”, and “Hide My Email” are trademarks of Apple Inc., used only to describe what the app interoperates with.

Apple provides no public API for Hide My Email. Masque works by communicating with Apple's private iCloud web endpoints — the same ones the icloud.com website uses. These are undocumented and may change, break, or be blocked at any time, which could stop the app from working without notice.

3. Your responsibilities

You must have a valid Apple ID that you are entitled to use, with “Access iCloud Data on the Web” enabled.
You are responsible for your own use of your Apple account, including compliance with Apple's iCloud Terms & Conditions and any other agreements you have with Apple. Using unofficial interfaces may be inconsistent with those agreements; you use Masque at your own discretion and risk.
Use the app only with accounts you own or are authorized to manage.

4. No warranty

The app is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. The developer does not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that it will keep working as Apple changes its services. 5. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages — including loss of data or email, account problems, or service disruption — arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the app.

6. No support obligation

Masque is a hobby project offered for free. There is no guarantee of support, updates, or continued availability. It may be modified or discontinued at any time.

7. License

The source code is licensed under the Apache License 2.0 (see LICENSE). These terms govern your use of the distributed application; the license governs the source code.

8. Changes

These terms may change; updates are published here with a new “last updated” date. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
