Terms of Service

FocusFence Last updated: August 28, 2026

1. Agreement

These Terms govern your use of the FocusFence iOS application (“the App”) and of this website. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

FocusFence is developed and maintained by Georgios Stavropoulos (“the Developer”).

2. Licence

The Developer grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App on Apple devices that you own or control, in accordance with Apple’s App Store Terms of Service. You may not copy, redistribute, sell, rent, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works from the App, except where that right cannot lawfully be excluded.

3. What the App does — and what it does not promise

FocusFence links Apple Focus modes to app-blocking rules, screen time limits, and Shortcuts automation, using Apple’s FamilyControls, ManagedSettings, and DeviceActivity frameworks.

Blocking is enforced by iOS, not by the Developer. The App depends on system behaviour that Apple controls and may change at any time.

FocusFence is a self-discipline aid. It is not a security product, a parental-control guarantee, or a content filter, and it must not be relied on to prevent access to any app or to any category of content. Rules may fail to arm, may be bypassed, or may stop working after a system update.

4. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for the rules you create and for anything that follows from apps being blocked — including missed calls, notifications, alerts, or time-sensitive information. Do not use FocusFence to block anything you may need in an emergency.

You must be old enough to enter into a binding contract where you live. The App uses Apple’s Screen Time API in individual mode and is intended for your own personal use, not for supervising another person’s device.

5. Subscriptions and payment

Some features require a FocusFence Pro subscription. Subscriptions are sold, billed, and renewed by Apple through the App Store. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase, and renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple Account settings.

Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple’s terms. The Developer cannot issue refunds directly.

Prices and the set of features included in Pro may change. Any change applies from the next renewal, never retroactively to a period you have already paid for.

6. Privacy

FocusFence does not collect, transmit, or store personal data on external servers. What the App keeps on your device, and why, is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

7. Availability and changes to the App

The Developer may modify, suspend, or discontinue the App, or any part of it, at any time. FocusFence is maintained on a best-effort basis by one person; there is no guaranteed support response time, uptime, or update schedule.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The App and this website are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. The Developer does not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will produce any particular outcome for your attention, productivity, or screen time.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any right you have under mandatory consumer protection law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Developer is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, nor for lost profits, lost data, missed communications, or missed opportunities, arising from your use of or inability to use the App.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Developer’s total liability arising out of or relating to the App is limited to the amount you paid for the App and its subscriptions in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.

10. Apple

These Terms are between you and the Developer, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content, and has no obligation to provide support for it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

11. Termination

Your licence ends if you stop using the App, delete it, or breach these Terms. Sections 8, 9, and 10 survive termination.

12. Changes to these Terms

If these Terms are updated, the revised version will be posted on this page with a new revision date. Continued use of the App after a change means you accept the revised Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Greece, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer resident in the EU, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence.
